Physical activity is critical to the development and maintenance of good health. The goal of Physical Education is to develop physically educated individuals who have the knowledge, skills, and confidence to enjoy a lifetime of healthful physical activity. It is our goal that our students will know the benefits of their choice to be involved in physical activity and have a mindset that values physical activity and its benefits in sustaining healthy lifestyles.
The goal of Health Education is to develop health literate individuals who have the knowledge, skills and confidence to enjoy a lifetime of good health. It is our goal that our students will know the benefits of making positive health choices especially in response to outside influences from their peers and the media and to encourage them to take responsibility for their own health.
The goal of Driver Education Theory prepares the student to go behind the wheel and put into practice the attitudes and skills needed to safely drive a car. It is our goal that our students will be introduced to, and comprehend, laws, techniques, strategies, and skills necessary to begin the process of receiving their New Jersey driver’s license.
In compliance with New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (NJMVC) standards, students will be required to participate in a minimum of 30 hours of classroom instruction, and be in good academic standing with a passing grade at marking period’s end, to be eligible to take the New Jersey State Written Drivers Examination. Course content is based upon the latest edition of the New Jersey Basic Automobile Driver Manual.
